Bible Text: 1 Kings 18:22-40, Galatians 1:1-12, Luke 7:1-10 | Preacher: Lon Marshall It’s difficult to reconcile God's violence of the Old Testament with Jesus’ non-violence of the New Testament. How do we know what God wants us to do in a world of contradictions, politics, and disagreement? Furthermore, there are so many things that Jesus doesn’t address that seem like they are important because they seem to be addressed in other places in scripture. One way we can know what God is like is to look at Jesus. The things he says and leaves out give us clues to God’s actual nature, how God is revealed in the incarnation. The image of the invisible God is Jesus!
