Benefit for the Chris Hartzler family

In February, Chris Hartzler was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (an aggressive form of brain cancer). Chris was immediately ready to fight and has started his treatment at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and is exploring further treatments outside the state of Iowa. Chris graduated from IMS (Hillcrest Academy) in 1993 while his wife Molly graduated from Highland in 1996. They have 4 children Kate (Kirkwood), Jacob (Sophomore @ Highland), Noah (7th grade @ Highland) and Hannah (5th grade @ Highland). Chris has given so much to our community in the past without asking for anything in return. We feel that now is our time to step up to the plate  and help back. We are hosting the Homers for Hartzler’s event Any funds raised at the Homers For Hartzler’s benefit will be given directly to Chris and Molly to help them as they navigate this challenging time ahead. The event will include baseball and softball games featuring Noah and Hannah’s teams competing against other local teams. Additionally the event will include many activities for kids including bouncy houses and a home run derby event. We will have local vendors set up throughout the day offering refreshments and will also have an evening meal served by a local caterer. The benefit will take place on May 4 in Riverside and more information can be found on Facebook
